The Outpost dispatch · 2026-05-05

The vote that opened the door.

A May milestone in our fight to keep local food and small business growing on Old Moultrie Road.

A gathering corner in The Outpost yard

On May 5, 2026, the St. Johns County Commission voted 3–2 to overturn the administrative interpretation at the center of The Outpost dispute. The St. Johns Citizen reported that the decision cleared the way for the food truck park to reopen.

For us, it was a milestone worth celebrating. A chance to keep pursuing the place we imagined: independent businesses, good food, and neighbors spending time together.

We are grateful to everyone who helped our story be heard. The work of building The Outpost continues, and we are glad you are part of it.

This article marks the reported May decision; it is not a statement that every future permit or operating requirement has been resolved.
